'Philippines style of play: ‘European’-styled football' -Lions Coach, Raddy Avramovic Singapore coach Radojko Avramovic ....>>Read On...

HT: PHILIPPINES 0 SINGAPORE 0

FLASH INTEL MATCH INSIGHT: Singapore started very strongly, right from kick-off which left Philippines in disarray for a at least the first quarter of the game. Philippines almost lost their basics
on the pitch and were looking very lost; Singapore would have netted a couple of goals if not for some good goal-keeping and lack of belief in front of goal. Singapore's offensive structure (and the players) can certainly be considered clinical when it comes to finishing; But few of the main obstacles/factors and trend of the Lions is the loss of belief, confidence and focus in certain situations and occurrences.
In this aspect, they have rarely showed consistency , except maybe for a short stint of a year or so (A long time ago though).

Singapore's Achilles Heel is when they are down or pressured in certain matches even on level terms (draw, during the game); And the last 10 to 15 Minutes of both halves, one can actually see the degeneration gradually as a whole. Dependent on situation, frustration, loss of focus, temperamental, disorganized  drive and fighting spirit dipping....and so on...

A very strong team, just needing that extra belief and mental strength, and Singapore can and would have easily been a powerhouse in Asia, and not only Asean.
Well, all that the rest can do is hope matters can start to move up and improve at faster pace and greater levels; which is what Singapore Footballers are capable of.

Match on....Regards

Shahril, skipper of the Lions, highlighted the positive effects of the decision relating to the younger players: “Most of them are young players who are in the upcoming national squad. It is a good time for national football [in the sense] that the youngsters are getting there [to the national team].”
