Chelsea is definitely seeking to take a sizable advantage into the second leg at the Liberty Stadium, riding high, right on from a 5-1 thrashing (Victims-Southampton). While on the other end, The Swans would in logical sense, happily take a draw at Stamford Bridge. Though, the hype surrounding Swansea in recent times just gives me the gut-feeling that Swansea would be going into this game with the mentality of taking Chelsea down at their own territory. Such is the sequence of a player and team's mentality in current situation's influences and environmental effects in footballing terms. (Personal Views).
Regardless of anything else, this clash promises to be an exciting affair with plenty of attacking talent on display.
Chelsea's 'mixed fortunes' under new manager Rafa Benitez as the media and footballing fraternity have been perceiving, have in fact recorded some extremely impressive performances and results to go with; but there have also been notable disappointments that at times cannot be avoided in Soccer, especially the EPL. The expectations laid unto Chelsea aggravated what actually wasn't as negative as described.
The World Club Cup loss to Corinthians was a bitter blow, added on by the loss to QPR on home soil, have  left their Premier League title hopes in tatters; But Chelsea have gone through such patches in the past years, thus it isn;t much of an unfamiliar zone to them. They have gone down and came up when nobody even gave them a chance or thought, they have achieved things when everyone saw it as ridiculous...the list goes on...Chelsea if looked at from a neutral angle, it is actually very clear on what they are capable regardless of management changes, players leaving.....
They will be going all out to try and win this competition. Juan Mata will be on of the key players for Chelsea, while new signing Demba Ba will look to further impress the fans after his goal scoring debut in the FA Cup –  Chelsea’s new seven million pound signing has hit the ground running, with two well taken goals in the FA Cup clash against Southampton. He will be looking to continue his great season with a stellar performance in this semi-final first leg. With Fernando Torres to contend with for a starting spot as the going seems to be in that direction, Ba will have to be at the top of his game at all times to keep the Spanish star on the bench.

Swansea are in a safely place in the league, thus, they will not have anything to hold back on players' rest and similar for this game. Expect them to field their best outfield players.
Swansea will look to hit Chelsea at Stamford Bridge; with the 2nd league in mind. Swansea' Michu would be an attacking threat, as are many others in the Swansea squad;. Michu has been scoring the goals to take his side into the Capital One Cup final; But Chelsea's class would be too much for Swansea to hold out for long; regardless of the threats Swansea have in their depths.
Swansea's only chance at silverware would be a motivating factor and driver for the team though; until Chelsea starts to weaken their resolve...

Pick And Summary: Chelsea Goes In As Favorites; though there are the group who may back Swansea on an upset. The Pick here is a convincing victory for Chelsea. Swansea might be going into this game with belief and confidence; but Chelsea will let their feet do the talking is what I foresee.

Chelsea appears lacklustre and taking the game too easy in the early stages of the game, where there wasn't any urgency; and they seemed just a little complacent from kick-off, which gradually backfired and left them in disarray for a period of time.
They tried to re-organize after being taken by surprise at Swansea's swiftness in going at Chelsea every single time they had the ball; showing no fear nor respect, and at times seem not to bother who the 'stars' are in the opposition (who could be dangerous if not careful defensively). All added up only to wake Chelsea up, which is also a norm, when it comes to this club, Chelsea. Chelsea only started to show the starting signs of their lethal attacking fluency after Swansea dealt them the official wake-up call, taking the lead at Stamford Bridge, nearing Half-Time.
The 2nd Half would be a totally contrasting game in comparison to the 1st....
